Back to School Initiative
Through the REDBLACKS Back to School Initiative, the OSEG Foundation aims to ensure that no student in our community goes back to school with an empty backpack.
One in five children live in poverty in Ottawa(1). Many of these households have a median income of $17,000 (2) which directly impacts the ability of families to cover the cost of backpacks and essential back to school supplies.
By providing proper school supplies, lunch bags, shoes and other back to school essentials to children and families, more students will be equipped with the tools they need to prepare for a successful school year and ready to learn so they can excel and reach their full potential.
The OSEG Foundation will work with other community organizations and schools to distribute the backpacks and school supplies to where they are needed most.

OSEG Foundation’s mission is to help kids excel and reach their full potential. Event participants leave feeling happy and fulfilled, knowing they have made a positive impact on children and youth the community.
